Approximatley 1,000 luminaries light your path through Historic Augusta, MO the first two Friday nights of December between five to ten PM. The winter event has more than a 25 year heritage and has become a tradition for the Augusta village to host. A free Trolley service will carry you through town to visit the many shops and vintage stores, wine producers and brewery, diners and food courts, discover unique artwork including hand-blown glass, crafts, and sculpture.
The local church can help move you in the holiday spirit with Christmas songs and invite you to sing along or just listen in their church sanctuary with a giant Christmas tree. The city square can heighten your holiday spirit with a horse drawn carriage ride around the center of town, a toasty bon fire with Chestnuts roasting and marshmallows toasting, and St. Nick waiting to listen to you Christmas wish-list.
The holiday enthusiast may enjoy the challenge of our Holiday Scavenger Hunt with a Christmas challenge and an evening full of gathering items from all the shops. You can submit your answers at our History Museum and register for gifts from our local merchants.
Everyone can simply relax by listening to our band at Mount Pleasant Winery with a glass of wine; spend the evening at dinner with friends at Caf? Bella, Augusta Brewing Company, Ashley’s Rose or Balducci’s; receive a therapeutic massage at Halcyon or they can shop till you drop at a various of specialty shops and antique stores - a great northeast Missouri attractions.
